Weekly update

So I have no major break throughs of the new year so far but I have managed to get some bits painted and have started some new projects. So I thought I might as well do some kind of an update in the mean time. So what have I been doing since I got back to hobbying after the holiday break.

So I thought I'd look back at what I've managed to do over the pervious year, projects that I have started or finished, the models that I have painted, the events I have attended, my first major forays into the hobby social media world and a little round up of my time working for GW. Warning: this will probably be a long post, with plenty of pictures to break it up, but a long read non-the-less.

So Something a little different today. I thought I'd chat about online battle reports (having just helped film my third) and what it is like filming for them, why I enjoy them and what I think they do for the community. The forge marches to war!

Today is an army showcase of my mechanicum. Like a servitor I have been slaving away over the last couple of months to get these guys done, firstly for events at warhammer world both earlier in the year (January) and one at the end of June, and secondly finishing all my owned mechanicum models (well nearly, see the bottom of the post). So read on to see the glory of the mechanicum ready to wage war, possibly for the emperor.....

Word of the Sigilite Campaign Weekend

So last weekend myself and three others decended as team Excellent to Warhammer World to play in the word of the sigilite campaign weekend, a horus heresy narrative event where the loyalists and traitors battled over the back water world of Ageis to find something the Sigilite was very keen on getting back, so this is a little run down of my weekend and the games that I played.

Looking Forward to June

Time for another update about some upcoming bits and pieces. I'm attending a couple of events and meeting with some people in June so have a whole bunch of bits to finish off for that plus obviously painting up a new army for 8th edition and deciding on an Age of Sigmar army to actually finish off.

Projects Updates

So I thought I'd take a chance to just post about what I've done over the last couple of weeks and let people know where I'm taking my armies and projects next. Also managed to take a bit of a hobby break last week which has refreshed me to start back at some bits and pieces.

Regaining the Hobby Mojo

So first post in a long while. To be honest although I have been hobbying I haven't really felt the desire to interact with the community or post photos of my work as I haven't really felt inspired in any real way, plus I've had life things to sort out. But now the life things have been sorted and Inferno has now dropped plus a couple of other bits and pieces I thought it would be worth writing some more bits and pieces. So without further a do lets get on with it!

So for a while I have been working on a smallish mechanicum force, well I've finally got the motivation to finish it off and add to it to bring it to a 3k list. There is the doubles event which is at the end of the January and the Escalation painting event in April and as I wanted a changed from the Space Wolves for a little while I thought I'd get some mech stuff done.

December Update

So I've managed to once again neglect making content for the blog or being active on social media as life (as it has a habit of doing) keeps getting in the way. So I thought I'd do a quick one today about what I have done recently and do some more in depth articles over the Christmas Period.

Up coming projects

So there is plenty to do although less time than I'd like (thanks to a new full time job starting on Monday) so I'm just going to summarise what a need to get done over the summer. I am trying to get a whole bunch of different projects finished up, so that I can either sell them on or put them out for display. 

I'm Back!

 

So after a short hiatus due to having to finish off my dissertation and do a poster presentation I haven't had the time or really felt like doing even more writing than I had to, so the blog got put on the back burner for a while. But I'm back now and have a number of projects I want to get finished, including some raven guard, my ordo reductor, two different age of sigmar armies and finishing painting what I have for my space wolves. So hopefully there will be more regular posts in the next couple of weeks. Also if any one was an army they want showcased then feel free to message me in the comments, by email (hobbyfromtheaett@gmail.com) or over on twitter. 

So hopefully we'll see some more posts coming out in the next couple of days and weeks.

This Weeks update

So there has been a lot of bits and pieces I've been working on/starting over the weekend (it's amazing how much hobbying you can get done when you are procrastinating). Below is just a little showcase of that and hopefully I'll have some other bits and pieces for you in the near future.

More Hobby Projects!

As with all hobbyists we all have a small amount of the hobby butterfly within us, and it is to that extent that I have started a new project, resurrected some old ones and added to existing ones. I'm also going to try and bring you a couple of battle reports for star wars xwing if I can (maybe once I've got a nice mat to take photos on). To that end I am going to split these updates over the week in a couple of different posts so that I can spend a bit more time chatting about each one in a little more depth. Todays topic, Space Wolves!

So this post is going to wrap up some of the projects that I want to complete in the next half a year to a year in my hobby and give you some idea of what to expect from me over that time.
