A hobby blog of a Space Wolves player who occasionally dabbles in other bits and pieces, including the Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar and Xwing . The main focus of this blog is the showcase of mine and others hobby works to try inspire both myself and others to further our hobbies.

Shadow War event weekend
So on the 29th and 30th of October, 98 gamers descended on Warhammer World to play in a Horus Heresy campaign weekend based on the missions in Book Six (Retribution). I took my pride of the legion space wolves list to fight on the side of loyalists against the rebels. All in all it was a great weekend, and I will give you a break down of the games (as best as I can remember them that is). Any way, enjoy.

What I'm working on next
So I'm back from my holiday (which was awesome) and have been thrown straight back into work, however this has been the perfect time to get some old projects finished, start some new ones and set myself some challenges. So without further a do here is what you'll be seeing from me in the next couple of months.

I'm on holiday!
So the is the current view from my window. Now the wonderful things is that this means I'm on an actual holiday, the bad news is no hobby for two weeks so you'll have to hold out and wait for a little while, however that doesn't mean that hobby thought won't happen. I have two realm gate novels, three Horus Heresy novels, the new legions red book and the sylvanethbattle tome to chew through, so hopefully I can get some planningdone in the next two weeks and then we can hit the ground running as we have a legion to carry on building as well as 2 AoS armies to build up and paint. Any way that's it from me for two weeks so I'll see you on the other side.

Sylvaneth Army showcase
So this week I haven't managed to get a huge amount of personal hobby time in this week (I finished the armour on 5 space marines) but I have managed to get a whole bunch of inspiration as well as painting a whole sylvaneth army for the shop (for those of you who don't know I know work in the Southampton GW so come say hello) so I thought I'd showcase them here seeing as I painted them.

The Hobby Butterfly Strikes Again!
So as you may have noticed I've been quiet for a couple of weeks and that is unfortunately due to non-hobby related things needing to be done from both a personal and work side of things. I've started a couple of new projects and am keen to get some old ones finished, I just need to find the time and space to do so. Hopefully I'll have something to show later this week (when I have a chance to write it up) but there will be no proper update this week. Below is a photo of my finished 'Aard Boy tester model to whet your appertite until I can get something more concrete together.

New Job, New posting schedule and Ironjawz!
So any of you who follow me on twitter will have realised that I have a new job, a job at Warhammer Southampton. Now this means that yay more money for hobby stuff but boo a full time job means less time to hobby. So I'm going to change the blog schedule a little bit. I'm going to try and post every Wednesday and if I get the time do a second, likely to come out over the weekend but this will be less regular. I'm hoping that having this blog will make sure that I keep on hobbying and actually get things done.
So onto the main meat of the post today, Ironjawz!

Up coming projects
So there is plenty to do although less time than I'd like (thanks to a new full time job starting on Monday) so I'm just going to summarise what a need to get done over the summer. I am trying to get a whole bunch of different projects finished up, so that I can either sell them on or put them out for display.

I'm Back!
So after a short hiatus due to having to finish off my dissertation and do a poster presentation I haven't had the time or really felt like doing even more writing than I had to, so the blog got put on the back burner for a while. But I'm back now and have a number of projects I want to get finished, including some raven guard, my ordo reductor, two different age of sigmar armies and finishing painting what I have for my space wolves. So hopefully there will be more regular posts in the next couple of weeks. Also if any one was an army they want showcased then feel free to message me in the comments, by email (hobbyfromtheaett@gmail.com) or over on twitter.
So hopefully we'll see some more posts coming out in the next couple of days and weeks.

Amy Snuggs Seraphon Army Showcase
So today I am happy to present a showcase of Amy Snuggs Award winning Seraphon. As most of you have hopefully seen her work I won't spend to long elaborating on the work itself but more about how it has inspired me with my painting and a bit about the hobby twitter scene.

New Army Showcase
So some exciting news, we have a new army showcase (or maybe two). Now if you've been living under a rock then you won't know this painter but for the rest of you should have seen most of this work before but hopefully I'll be able to put a new twist on this. Without further ado I am happy to announce that the wonderful Amy Snuggs has allowed me the showcase her models on this blog. So come back tomorrow (yes I know I'm mean) for her Seraphon and then later next week for her Fyreslayers and possibly Ogors

This Weeks update
So there has been a lot of bits and pieces I've been working on/starting over the weekend (it's amazing how much hobbying you can get done when you are procrastinating). Below is just a little showcase of that and hopefully I'll have some other bits and pieces for you in the near future.

Giving Age of Sigmar a go
So this is mainly a 30k blog but I've slowly started throwing in some other wargaming related stuff into it such as x wing. I recently decided I wanted to give Age of Sigmar a go! Yes I know it is heresy but below is my reasoning for it. Don't worry the blog won't become over-ridden with it but you may see the occasional update every now and then.

More Hobby Projects!
As with all hobbyists we all have a small amount of the hobby butterfly within us, and it is to that extent that I have started a new project, resurrected some old ones and added to existing ones. I'm also going to try and bring you a couple of battle reports for star wars xwing if I can (maybe once I've got a nice mat to take photos on). To that end I am going to split these updates over the week in a couple of different posts so that I can spend a bit more time chatting about each one in a little more depth. Todays topic, Space Wolves!

Lack of Hobby time
So I currently have a major lack of hobby time. I am currently in a short module which requires my full attention as well as having recently purchasing Stardew Valley (Yes I know). But I have managed to get a couple of bits done in the last two weeks.

What I have and am working on
So I've managed to be away again for longer than I would like. However with all the university work, paid work and dancing I haven't had much time to do very much at all. Decided to post up a couple of photos of what I have managed to in the last couple of weeks.

David's Space Wolves
So another army showcase (haven't done one of these in a while) and I saw a wonderful space wolves army at Throne of Skulls back in the middle of January (the only other wolves player present) so I thought it only right to take some photos of them and show them here. Thanks very much to David for letting me share these photos and setting up his army specifically so that I could take photos of them.

Forays into X-wing
So I've decided to try my hand at a new table top game, and with the release of the new film what better a game to branch out into than Star Wars X-wing. Between myself and a couple of my friends we are planning on collecting a different faction each so that when we meet up we have a variety of different ships to play with.

Throne of Skulls roundup
So this past weekend was the 30k Throne of Skulls event at Warhammer World in Nottingham. Two days with 5 games of warhammer between 2k to 3k points. I'm going to do a round up the games that I had over the weekend. Overall it was a very enjoyable weekend against a great bunch of guys. Really looking forward to doing it again.

A New Year
So this is the first post in quite a long while, but then I've been very busy. That should change now as I both have time to write posts and things to write about . In the next couple of weeks you'll see a round up of the Throne of Skulls event from last weekend, a couple of army showcases and some plans for the future so please keep yours eyes peeled for all brand new and exclusive content right here. So sit back grab some Skal and we'll get started again shall we.
